What happens in sessions will not be disclosed, unless the laws regarding the limits of confidentiality are breached. Counselors are legally required to seek crisis intervention if a person appears to be a danger to themselves or others, if they suspect abuse or neglect of a minor under age 18, an older person over age 60, or a disabled person.
What happens in group, stays in group. Group members agree to not disclose who is in group and what they share to ensure that group interactions are a safe space.
We operate on a foundation of inclusion and belonging. We make efforts to include everyone who joins groups, welcoming who they are and what they bring to the table. We value different perspectives and backgrounds.
We realize that everyone has their own path in life, and we refrain from judging someone else's beliefs, experiences or background. We may discern and explore experiences and processes, coming from a place of curiosity and seeking to understand, and extend compassion to cultivate belonging.
We honor difficulty as a teacher, and attempt to walk beside one another on our journeys. We extend grace when there are missteps and we seek to understand each other's perspectives and experiences.
We seek to understand the truth about ourselves and we share what is true to us in the moment. We recognize that sharing can be a vulnerable experience, and we honor others in their attempts to say what is true. We provide space for ourselves and others to explore truth, knowing we are all learning and growing in the process.
We establish and maintain healthy boundaries, which means we share what we feel comfortable sharing. We recognize that knowing the right boundaries is a process, and we support each other as we learn what to share and what to withhold.
